The Russian Revolution. It had long term causes and short term causes,
These are some of the long term causes. lack of democracy. The peasants were treated poorly for a long time. Russia was a police state: people were watched all the time. Even students were watched all the time. Czar refused to change Russia was. They wanted to keep it the way it was.
Some of the short term causes were millions of men were killed, injured or captured for questioning in WW1. This lead to a break down of the Russian army, there army fell apart. There was starvation. And they were freezing in the cities.
But why did the Russians have a revolution? They had a revolution because the Government had refused to listen to the demands of Russia's people. The revolutions was all about distributing the riches of Russia, they wanted to redistribute it away from the rich an towards the poor. This is why the slogan of the Communists was "Peace, land and bread"- Bolshevik. Peace because they were losing millions of men, Land because peasants were treated as badly, and Bread because people were starving in the cities.
This was the Russian Revolution and its causes.

Causes of WW1
What caused WW1? It was more than just one event that lead to World War One. There were three primary reasons for the start for World War One. those reasons were Nationalism, Militarism, the Assassination Of Franz Ferdinand, and the collapse of the alliance system.
The reason why Nationalism was a cause of WW1 was because Nationalism caused a problem for Austria-Hungary and the Balkans, areas comprised of many conflicting national groups. The ardent Panslavism of Serbia and Russia were willing to support its Slavic brother conflict with Austria-Hungary's Pan-Germanism.
The reason why Militarism was a cause of the was because All the countries inside the hostile camps were building large armies and navies during the pre-war years. As a result, a class of professional and powerful military officers developed and tended to control the civil authorities. In addition, before the event happened, the militarise of each country had drawn up complete plans for mobilization. These plans only awaited the go-ahead signal.
The reason why Nationalism was a cause was because it caused a political change. Which weakened the monarchies, and it uplifted two bitter appose ideologies. this was why Nationalism was a cause of WW1.
And the biggest issue for last. This is the last cause of WW1. This was The assassination of the Franz Ferdinand. Franz Ferdinan was assassinated along with his wife. Two bullets had shot him and his wife.
These were the reasons for WW1.

Opium Wars- Imperialism in China
What happened during The Opium Wars?
The Opium war 1839-1842, Known as the most humiliating defeat in China. But what had happened during this time was china had signed a treaty with Great Britain. the treaty was a one sided treaty. The Chinese had to give up Hong-Kong to the British, they had to agree to extraterritorial rights (anyone from Britain or the USA who commit ed a crime in china could not be in trouble or charged in Chinese court). Now the British and other could use 4 other ports instead of the one Guangzhou. The war began because the wanted to force china to import Opium from British merchants. But the Chinese refused. and for 2 reasons, 1 they didn't want a Chinese addicts, and 2 they knew that England had baned Opium from coming into Britain.
they lost because British had better weapons. this was the Opium war.

Imperialism Project
There reason why we did this project was to show how the countries that the Europeans was conquered in parts of America. it was to show the divisions of those countries in those continents. Also to show the trading routes of the countries. I learned how many countries were conquered other and how there were in completely different continents. For example how some countries in Europe Conquered parts of Africa etc.
Film Lesson: "Mountains of the Moon"
Some of the hardships the Europeans faced while exploring Africa were, Sickness, lack of food and supplies, Men were dying one by one from drinking the salt water or from disease, tribes would attack them, Richard Burton had a spire thrown at him and went right through his cheek. John Speeke had bugs go in his ear. These were some of the hardships they faced. But why is it strange that source of the Nile River was named after Queen Victoria? well its strange because shes all the way in Europe and That lake is located where they have never even seen white people before. there all of dark colored skin and its named after her? sorta weired. But the European had an advantage against the Africans. They were way more civilised then they Africans. So they thought it was the duty to to teach he edict and manners, pretty much how to be civilised. Plus there technology was so far more advanced the had guns and such. While the Africans had none whats so ever. they only had wooden spears. that's why it was simple for Europeans to conquer Africa.

Karl Marx and Communism
Karl Marx believed the history was a permit fight between in a Country or society between the rich and the poor. He called this the class struggle. What is Communism? Communism is a system where people are put into classes or category's which every you would like to call it. Karl Mark believed the Communism would take over, that workers would take over. And landlords would no longer be in charge. He saw the working class"proletariat"as the good guys the on that would change for the better. An he saw the business owners as the bad guys "bourgeoisie".
Karl Marx and the Industrial Revolution
Karl Mrax had a Strong opinion on the industrial revolution. He thought that instead of landlords owning farms and factories, Workers should own them. He felt that wealth should be distributed. "from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs." He did not believe in god a thought that Workers were controlled by religion "religion is the opiate of the people. Opium is a drug. " His views were of Communism. Communism over threw most governments and till today We still use it. He mad a big change in the world. This was the opinion of Karl Marx.
